Freelance Staff

Writing rates vary, from $13 to $250 per 1,000 words ($125 on average).

Editing rates range from $6.25 to $60 per 1,000 words ($50 average).

Rates depend both on particular editorial projects and on experience and ability.

Fulltime Staff

Staff salaries correspond to prevailing industry averages in the area where the employee is located, with adjustment for ability and experience.

Benefits include professional development, health insurance and pensions, at least four weeks a year of vacation time, annual profit bonuses and quarterly performance bonuses, and severance pay.

Some freelance staff who work a regular schedule and contribute significantly to the company will also qualify for bonuses and severance pay.
